Spintronic and The CASINO
Spintronic and The CASINO
Can the CASINO be used to study magnetic properties of materials ? E.g magnetoresistance.

Re: Spintronic and The CASINO
CASINO can be used to investigate some magnetic properties by calculating the energies of different spin configurations.
It is not obvious how QMC can be used to calculate transport properties directly. However, QMC can be used to determine points on a band structure with high accuracy; one can then fit a tight-binding parametrisation of the bands, for use in transport calculations.

Re: Spintronic and The CASINO
Thanks Neil.
I recently developed a Drude-like resistivity model for magnetoresistance in metallic superlattices,
I'd be glad if what you said would be taught at this years summer school.
I'd like to work to find a way to use it with my model rather than Tight-binding.
Once again, thank you for the info.
